Journey to Wellness (J2W) is an eight-week wellness program for Indigenous youth 12-18 years of age.
[bullet](Participants receive a sequenced set of eight one-hour sessions framed positively toward healthy living styles while simultaneously exploring risk factors, suicide prevention, and other suicide-related issues.)
[bullet](The sessions are activity-oriented and designed to engage youth. Session topics include relationship building, problem-solving, self-esteem building, facts and myths of suicide, networking, life planning, emergency planning, and finally, a celebratory event to close out the sessions.)
[bullet](J2W is delivered along gender and age group divisions to promote comfort and safety.)

Acknowledgements

We thank and acknowledge the youth from Moosomin, Mosquito, Red Pheasant, Sweetgrass, Poundmaker,
and Little Pine First Nations. They helped in guiding this program and bringing it to fruition. They
continuously keep us on our toes, keeping ideas fresh, and willing to give their input. We also need to
thank the management of BRT6HC for their support and patience. Finally, we would like to thank the
staff that have left their legacy however are no longer with our program but were an integral part of
creating its foundation.
